My Therapist Self

I am a therapist, researcher, and mental health advocate who believes that healing doesn’t always have to be heavy (sometimes it looks like community, laughter, or a really good metaphor). With academic roots in psychology and hands-on experience across clinical, research, and advocacy spaces, I work at the intersection of mental health, identity, and social justice. My practice is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, and rooted in creating safe, collaborative spaces - especially for folks who’ve felt like therapy “wasn’t made for them."

Frequently asked questions

Is online therapy just as effective as offline therapy?

Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress. It also offers added flexibility, comfort, and accessibility.

What should I expect during online therapy?

In your first few sessions, your therapist will get to know you, understand your concerns, and set goals with you. You’ll explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns at your pace — all through a secure, private video call.

Is therapy confidential?

Absolutely. Your privacy is our priority. Everything shared in therapy remains confidential, following strict ethical guidelines set by professional mental health bodies.

Who are the therapists at Sahatva?

How do I choose the right therapist?

You can explore our therapist profiles to find someone who fits your needs. If you're unsure, our team can help you get matched based on your concerns, preferences, and goals.

How are therapy sessions conducted?

Therapy sessions take place online via secure video platforms. You’ll receive a link before your session — simply join from your laptop or phone in a quiet, private space.
